  4. Warp the picture in software so it fits the curve without stretching.

Dome Projection System: questions buyers ask

What ceiling height does a projection dome need?

The Dome Projection System needs enough ceiling clearance for the full dome height plus its frame. The exact figure depends on the diameter you choose, so send your room measurements and we confirm it in the quote. The seating plan and dome diameter are agreed together.

Can people sit or lie down inside the Dome Projection System?

Yes, the Dome Projection System is built for seated or reclining viewers. Bean bags or cushions on the floor work well because the picture covers the curved ceiling above the audience.

Does the dome need a completely dark room?

The Dome Projection System looks good when the room can be darkened. Light spilling in washes out stars and deep colours, so blackout curtains or a windowless room help a great deal.

Is the dome picture sharp at the edges?

The Dome Projection System corrects the image for the curve in software, so shapes keep their proportions. Sharpness depends on the projector you choose, which we match to the dome size when we quote.

Can a presenter control the dome show live?

Yes. The Dome Projection System is run from a host computer, so a presenter can pause, skip or replay a segment while talking. We can set up a simple control for staff at hand-over.

Can the dome be installed permanently or moved?

The Dome Projection System can be a fixed installation or a frame that is taken down between uses. Tell us how often you plan to move it and we advise on the frame and crating in the quote.
