How does the Interactive Immersive Projection System work?

  1. Agree the surfaces that will carry the picture, such as two walls and the floor.
  2. Mount projectors above the room so they cover those surfaces.
  3. Correct the geometry and blend the overlaps into one continuous image.
  4. Place a radar touch sensor at the base of the wall, on a short stand.
  5. The sensor reads where a hand touches the projected picture.
  6. The host computer changes the content at that point, for example by scattering light across the floor.

Interactive Immersive Projection System: questions buyers ask

What kind of touch sensor does the interactive projection system use?

The Interactive Immersive Projection System uses a radar touch sensor placed at the base of the wall. It detects where a hand meets the surface, so no camera is pointed at visitors' faces. Share your wall material so we judge whether touch will read cleanly.

Can several people touch the wall at once?

Several visitors can usually touch the Interactive Immersive Projection System together, but the number depends on the sensor and content. Tell us the group size you expect and we confirm what the set-up handles.

How many projectors does this system use?

The Interactive Immersive Projection System has no fixed projector limit, because images are corrected and blended across as many projectors as the surface needs. We count them from your floor plan and quote accordingly.

Does the room need to be dark?

Moderate light or less suits the Interactive Immersive Projection System. Bright daylight on the wall weakens the picture, so we suggest curtains or a room without large windows.

Does the radar sensor work on a curved or uneven wall?

The Interactive Immersive Projection System suits flat walls, since touch positions are mapped to a flat picture. If your wall is uneven, send photos and we say whether it needs a panel or smoothing first.

How long does the installation take?

Installation time for the Interactive Immersive Projection System depends on the number of projectors and the state of the room. We give a schedule in the quote after seeing your floor plan. Ask for a site visit if the wall has a curve or a join.
